Main duties and responsibilities
Directorate and Role
This is a FTC - 12month post is to ensure the successful delivery of the university's new improved research management system, led by project director Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor (aPVC) for Research, and Project Sponsor the Deputy Vice Chancellor. This role is critical working with colleagues from (Research Business and Innovation (RBI) directorate, UG, PG and PGR students, academic and professional services).
The business change manager will be responsible for managing the full business implementation and change plans for staff, including the coordination of training across the university and the familiarisation for staff working within the seven new programmes that the research platform will provide. This will also include working with external consultants during the key phases of change as a key member of the team.
Reporting to the Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor (aPVC) for Research, Professor Philip McTernan, and working directly with the Director of Research Business and Innovation (RBI), Helen Donnellan, the successful candidate will be an integral member of the university’s delivering the Business Change of the research management system. They will act as a strategic liaison between key stakeholders working with the Transformation Office.
The role will provide support, as necessary, to their line manager aPVC for Research, and also support to the Director of RBI in this project.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven individual with a demonstratable track record in Business Change management, with an excellent appreciation of the university landscape. This will include the ability to persuasively bring collaborators together and optimize contribution ensuring there is a strong sense of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be well-versed in following internal policies and guidelines, and be able to read, interpret and advise on specific requirements. With excellent communication skills, the ideal candidate must be confident in engaging with internal and external stakeholders at different levels both written and verbally. You will need to develop excellent and effective working relationships with colleagues across the University and outside. You will be proactive and must be comfortable working independently in a busy environment and competent in managing competing priorities and deadlines seamlessly.
