De Montfort University is a university of quality and distinctiveness, distinguished by our life-changing research, dynamic international partnerships, vibrant links with business and our commitment to excellence in learning, teaching and the student experience.

The Role

The role reports to the Careers Development Manager and is responsible for the delivery of high-quality employability provision to students in the Business and Law faculty. The faculty offers a wide range of courses from Law and Marketing, to Business Economics and Accounting & Finance.

This will be a busy role liaising with students, employer partners and academic colleagues every day. You will build knowledge about specific industries and job roles and offer support to students applying and preparing for placements. You will also deliver engaging talks, workshops and events, and coordinate communications with students via social media and other channels. The accurate capture and processing of student participation data will be a further important aspect of the role. One-to-one appointments and group session delivery will vary, with some taking place face-to-face on campus, and other delivered remotely/virtually whilst working from home.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills as the ability to build rapport with students is important in this role. You will also demonstrate strong organisational skills as a supportive member of the Careers Team, a problem-solving approach and enthusiasm for teamwork. You will have demonstrable experience of working in a busy customer facing environment and an excellent knowledge of working with databases and/or CRM systems. In return you will join a busy, caring and resourceful team at DMU, working at the heart of employability and the student experience, where your input will be valued and your ideas listened to. There will be ample opportunity for personal and professional development.

Interview dates likely to be w/c 2nd November.

The team

You will form a key part of DMU’s award winning Careers Team, which sits within the Directorate of Student Life and Learning Services (SLLS).
