The Role
The role reports to the Careers Development Manager and is responsible for the delivery of high-quality employability provision to students in the Business and Law faculty. The faculty offers a wide range of courses from Law and Marketing, to Business Economics and Accounting & Finance.
This will be a busy role liaising with students, employer partners and academic colleagues every day. You will build knowledge about specific industries and job roles and offer support to students applying and preparing for placements. You will also deliver engaging talks, workshops and events, and coordinate communications with students via social media and other channels. The accurate capture and processing of student participation data will be a further important aspect of the role. One-to-one appointments and group session delivery will vary, with some taking place face-to-face on campus, and other delivered remotely/virtually whilst working from home.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills as the ability to build rapport with students is important in this role. You will also demonstrate strong organisational skills as a supportive member of the Careers Team, a problem-solving approach and enthusiasm for teamwork. You will have demonstrable experience of working in a busy customer facing environment and an excellent knowledge of working with databases and/or CRM systems. The team
You will form a key part of DMU’s award winning Careers Team, which sits within the Directorate of Student Life and Learning Services (SLLS). This directorate is responsible for providing a wide and diverse range of services to all our students including Student Wellbeing, Careers & Employability, Student Finance and Academic Support.
