Job Description:

The Role:

Are you an experienced pharmacist who is passionate about developing the next generation of prescribing professionals? Whether your expertise comes from current clinical prescribing practice or from teaching and supporting healthcare professionals in academia, we are looking for individuals who can inspire and educate future prescribers. If this sounds like you, the Leicester School of Pharmacy would love to hear from you.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking pharmacist to join our academic team and play a key role in preparing pharmacy students for contemporary clinical practice and prescribing responsibilities. As an experienced pharmacist, you will help students develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required for safe and effective prescribing. You will contribute to teaching across our MPharm programme, supporting students to build competence in clinical assessment, consultation skills, clinical reasoning, therapeutic decision-making, interpretation of patient records and investigations, shared decision-making, and safe prescribing practice.

Working within a supportive and innovative team, you will deliver undergraduate teaching, facilitate clinical skills and prescribing workshops, support assessment and curriculum development, and provide academic and professional support to students. There may also be opportunities to contribute to postgraduate teaching and continuing professional development programmes.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of pharmacy practice, enabling pharmacists from both clinical and academic backgrounds to share their expertise, inspire learners, and support the development of the next generation of confident, patient-centred prescribers.
