Marketing and Communications Directorate
The Directorate provides full-service marketing and communications support across the university, including brand and creative development, recruitment campaigns, CRM and conversion, faculty marketing, reputation and media relations, internal and external communications, events, admissions and widening participation, enquiry management, and web and digital development.
The Role

The Business Partnering team supports the university’s recruitment and commercial goals, focusing on portfolio performance and student recruitment outcomes. Working with a Business Partner, you will deliver insight-led course marketing and recruitment activity for a designated faculty, shaping messaging and campaigns in collaboration with MarComms colleagues and key stakeholders. As part of a small, supportive team, you will contribute to a “one team” approach while delivering end-to-end marketing activity that positions courses effectively to future students.
Ideal Candidate
We’re seeking a creative, resilient graduate (or equivalent) who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, combining analytical thinking with practical delivery. Knowledge of UK and international student markets is desirable but not essential.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience delivering high-quality, innovative marketing, content ideation, copywriting, student recruitment, communications, and/or event activity, supported by strong project management skills.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build, develop, and manage positive stakeholder relationships.
- Confidence in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, academics, and colleagues across multiple teams, with the ability to influence and persuade effectively.
- Experience (or a strong interest) in product or course marketing, including translating complex offerings into clear and compelling propositions.
- The ability to use data, insight, and market intelligence to monitor performance, evaluate impact, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Resilience when balancing competing priorities and viewpoints.
- An understanding of commissioning or briefing in work across an organisation.
