Main duties and responsibilities

The Registry Services Directorate at De Montfort University supports every stage of the student journey from registration through to graduation including the work of the Student Casework Services (SCS).

We are currently seeking a Student Casework Manager to join our committed SCS team to contribute to the delivery of high quality support for our students. At DMU, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and ongoing improvement. As part of this role, you will join a supportive team at the core of the university’s commitment to student wellbeing and success.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by managing and enhancing the university’s student casework services, including academic appeals, complaints, misconduct, and disciplinary procedures. As Student Casework Manager, you will support the Head of the Student Casework in overseeing and coordinating all areas of student casework. You will lead a team of officers and administrators to ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality handling of student cases, ensuring compliance with university regulations, Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA)’s requirements and sector best practice. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of two days per week on campus. Additional on-site days may be required depending on business needs.

The ideal Student Casework Manager at De Montfort University would be someone who combines strong leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of the higher education environment particularly in relation to student casework and adherence to best practices set by the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).
