Faculty/Directorate
Our Faculty of Technology, Arts and Culture is home to a wide range of innovative courses taught in state-of-the-art facilities, equipping students with the specialist skills and knowledge needed to tackle real-world challenges.
Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands-on Mechatronics and Systems Integration Lab Technician to join the technical team within the faculty. You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day running of the labs, supporting both teaching and research activities, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for staff, students and visitors.
As part of a dedicated technical team, you will:
- Provide hands on technical support to users.
- Maintain & develop specialist equipment, software, and lab systems.
- Support student learning, projects, and skills development.
- Contribute to exhibitions, shows and collaborative events.
This role is on a fixed term contract for 12 months, 37 hours per week.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with specialist knowledge in mechatronics, robotics, systems integration along with communications systems understanding, with the ability to apply this experience to dynamic teaching and research environment.
You will bring:

- A proactive, student-focused mindset and excellent communication skills.
- A willingness to keep pace with emerging technologies and industry practices.
- Flexibility to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
