Faculty/Directorate
This role involves working at the heart of the University’s Web & Digital team, developing user interfaces, optimising online journeys, and collaborating with colleagues to elevate our marketing and recruitment efforts.
Role
In this role, you'll help drive DMU's digital strategy by designing and building innovative, accessible and user-faced digital platforms.
- Design & Develop: Create engaging UI/UX solutions across DMU’s websites and digital platforms that are visually compelling and highly functional.
- Optimise & Enhance: Use data and user insights to optimise digital journeys, ensuring every platform performs seamlessly across devices and browsers.
- Deliver Projects: Contribute to the successful delivery of digital projects in an Agile environment, supporting new features, content structures, landing pages, and student recruitment tools.
- Collaborate: Work closely with Marketing & Communications and stakeholders across the university to align digital output with strategic goals.
- Maintain Standards: Champion best practices in responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), usability, code quality, and release management.
- Lead by Example: Stay current with evolving technologies and digital trends, sharing your knowledge to guide technical standards and enhance team capabilities.
Ideal Candidate
You’re a creative problem-solver with both technical skills and an eye for design. You understand how to build digital experiences that are not just beautiful, but usable and effective. You’re collaborative, user-focused, and ready to make an impact.
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience in UI/UX design and front-end development.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
- .NET experience preferred
- Experience working with CMS platforms and contributing to large-scale digital projects.
- A solid understanding of accessibility standards and performance optimisation.
- A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.
