This is a key role within People Services, providing leadership across the People Support Hub and the specialist operational People functions. We are looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running, ensuring continuity of service, strengthening compliance, and delivering an excellent employee experience.

About the role

You will lead a busy, customer-focused HR operations service, ensuring efficient and compliant delivery across the employee lifecycle. A strong focus of the role is maintaining robust processes and controls across areas such as UKVI, DBS, right to work checks, contracts and workforce data.

You will also play a key role in improving service delivery, streamlining processes, identifying risks and enhancing the experience for both employees and managers.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the People Support Hub and operational People Operations services
  • Ensure compliance across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including UKVI, DBS and relevant employment law aspects
  • Deliver a high-volume, customer-focused HR service aligned to service level agreements
  • Provide hands-on leadership to ensure continuity and performance during a period of change
  • Drive improvements to systems, processes and service delivery
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted operational partner
  • Deputise for the Head of People Services Operations

About you

You will be an experienced HR operations professional with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, compliant services in a complex organisation.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience leading HR operations services and delivering immediate impact in a new role
  • Strong knowledge of UKVI, DBS and employment compliance requirements
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment
  • A commitment to excellent customer service and improving the employee experience
  • Confidence in using HR systems and data to drive performance and decision-making
