Main duties and responsibilities

De Montfort University (DMU) is an ambitious, truly globally-minded institution with a relentless focus on delivering high quality teaching and research. A culturally rich university with a strong commitment to the public good, it strives to maintain a stimulating, innovative and inclusive environment where staff and students are able to thrive.

Faculty / Directorate

The Directorate of People Services is home to Human Resources and the Learning & Organisational Development Team. At DMU, our vision is to become a leading provider of professional and creative education, business services, and of research that pushes boundaries and improves lives. To do this, we need to bring the most talented, professional and ambitious people into our community - people like you.

Role

As a Workforce Data Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring people data and HR systems are accurate and up to date. Your work will support colleagues and stakeholders across the university, helping them complete people system tasks efficiently. You will be the first point of contact for people systems enquiries and tasks, managing them in line with agreed service standards and delivering a consistently reliable, high-quality service.

You will support the annual statutory submission to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) by carrying out regular data quality checks and coordinating tasks linked to the submission. You will also use HR systems and reporting tools to produce and manipulate datasets and management information, supporting data assurance, decision-making, and reporting for both internal and external purposes.

Ideal candidate

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a genuine passion for data. You will bring substantial experience in entering and maintaining information within a complex HR system, demonstrating a clear commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across day-to-day people processes. Well-organised and proactive, you are comfortable managing a varied workload and responding to queries in a timely and efficient manner. You understand the importance of meeting agreed service standards and take pride in delivering a reliable, high-quality service to colleagues and stakeholders.

You take the time to understand processes thoroughly and are confident in identifying and suggesting practical improvements to enhance effectiveness. You are confident working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes, while also being able to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
